Job description

Maintenance of existing off-the shelf application as well as design of new features and facilities

Technical Requirements:

Excellent Java SE and EE (Java 6 or 7)
Spring Framework 3
JSP as view technology
JUnit
Sybase / Firebird / Oracle Database or similar
JDBC
XML / XSL
Apache Tomcat
Servlets – advantageous
Networking Knowledge
Windows / Linux Environment
REST Web Service – advantageous
IDE (Integrated Development Environment), Eclipse – advantageous
SVN Versioning System – advantageous
MS SQL Server to the database knowledge along with JVM and Tomcat performance tuning

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Uses established fact-finding procedures, knowledge of pertinent work processes and procedures, and familiarity with related programming practices, system software, and computer equipment to provide required analysis of business and/or scientific problems.
2. Applies established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment, and programming language have already been decided.
3. Prepare detailed specifications from information developed by higher level analysts.
4. Researches routine user problems and solves them by modifying existing systems when solutions follow clear precedents: works within defined objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and adapts guidelines to specific situations.
5. Receives general instructions for specific and ongoing assignments and refers problems and unfamiliar situations to supervisor; finished work and methods are checked.
6. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required

High School Diploma/GED
At least 5 years experience in J2EE Development
At least 5 years experience in MS SQL
At least 5 years experience in XML/XSL
At least 4 years experience in JVM and Tomcat performance tuning
At least 5 years experience in JUnit/JSP/Spring 3/JDBC/Servlets
English: Fluent



Preferred

Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years experience in J2EE Development
