Job Title: Business Writer (Reference # 8603) Job Grade:09/10 GEN
Introduction
The purpose of this role is to deliver engaging, high quality and effective business and creative copy for all internal and external communities within the Metropolitan Retail business.
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
•Gaining an understanding of the communication needs of all internal and external communities;
•Developing appropriate messages to respond to the communication needs of all communities;
•Developing of business copy for all mediums;
•Developing of creative copy for employee and customer facing campaigns, including advertising copy;
•Proofreading and sub-editing of copy generated within the business.
The applicant should meet these requirements:
•Grade 12 or NQF equivalent;
•Minimum 3 year completed communication related degree or national diploma;
•At least 5 years copywriting experience;
•Proven ability to write effective and appropriate copy - a portfolio of evidence will be required.
Recommendations
•Copywriting diploma through a recognised institution.
Competencies Required
•Concern for order, quality and accuracy;
•Information seeking in nature;
•Able to gain a high level of organisational awareness and understanding of the business;
•Self-control.
Additional Information
A writing test will be conducted during the selection process as part of the shortlisting excercise. Due to the employment equity targets of the department, only EE candidates will be considered.
