Introduction

To take a leading POS (Point of Sale) Business Analyst role during the RFI (Request for Info) & RFP (Request for Proposal) stages of the POS application replacement project. This is a 6 month contract position based at the Head Office in Cape Town City Centre.
Minimum Requirements

TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL
• 6 years+ Business Analysis, of which 2 years are Retail POS orientated
• A team player
• Strong analysis & documentation skills
• Experience with document management and organizing repositories
• Working experience of ARIS will be an advantage
• Experience of Agile / JAD Sessions will be an advantage
• Retail Business and preferably POS (Point of Sale) BA experience will be very beneficial
• Proven hands-on experience on multiple POS projects will also be very beneficial
• The ability to work to deadlines
• Good verbal, written and presentation communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Project Management Methodology
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven facilitation skills, with confidence to deal with high-level stake-holders
• Customer Service Orientation
• High attention to detail
• A relevant BA qualification will be an advantage
Job Specification

• Assist the project team in identifying and selecting the next generation POS Application to be used in Woolworths stores.
• Document business requirements and existing business process, assist with GAP analysis and position the project to move into Development and Implementation stages.
• Arrange and facilitate workshops with business & IS representatives to gain an understanding of current and future POS requirements
• Assess and document high-level business & IS requirements for a new POS (Point of Sale) application
• Create a scoring mechanism to assist RFI feedback assessment teams with shortlisting the responders
• Translate the high-level requirements into a formal RFI (Request for Info) document
• Attend and sometimes facilitate review workshops, evaluate vendor RFI feedback, assess the products against high-level business & IS requirements
• Convert the high-level business & IS requirements into an RFP (Request for Proposal) questionnaire which will be issued to the shortlisted vendors
• Assess vendor feedback, work with the project team to score the responses and ultimately select the final POS Application vendor
• Become familiar with existing WW BP (Business Process) repositories and standards
• Based on existing WW systems and best practice, develop a POS BP repository framework for documenting and managing BP’s & sign-off entities relating to the POS Project. Work with existing POS resources to prioritize BP entities and develop the contents of the BP repository
• Perform a detailed GAP Analysis between the WW BP and the chosen application solution
• Recommend (in the first instance and where appropriate) best-practice changes to the retail BP over and above changes to the Core POS product
• Write BRS/URS (Business/User requirement specifications) to detail what POS changes are needed to fulfill the identified Business Processes
• Set up and facilitate requirements review workshops / with business and other stakeholder, obtain sign-off of requirements
• Workshop requirements with application vendor BA’s, architects and/or developers, review and sign-off FS (Functional Specifications) before the development commences
• Write test scenarios and test cases to assist with Functional and UAT testing
• Assist the test team with integration and other areas where appropriate
• Facilitate and attend UAT, assess results, ensure the quality and integrity of the solution is delivered in accordance to business expectations, work with business users and stakeholders to sign-off the deliveries
• Assist with post-implementation defect identification & management
• Provide input into ITS policies, principles and procedures
