Context We are currently looking for a Brand Manager for our Marketing and Sales Department. The ideal candidate would be someone who is highly skilled with a Degree with Marketing as a major or a Marketing Diploma. All internal divisions; and associate companies particularly; Marketing and Sales, Corporate Affairs, Content, Strategy, Operations & DStv Media Sales
Channel Suppliers (Local and International)
Outputs To develop the DStv Premium brands and lead delivery of the overall brand objectives specifically relating to new acquisitions and driving ARPU
To recommend and manage the annual DStv Premium & HDPVR marketing budgets
To ensure the marketing plan is informed by relevant consumer insight, which can be used to unlock profitable growth
To demonstrate leading management behaviors in line with MultiChoice’s business values eg. Customer Focus, Participation, Innovation, Mutual Respect, Performance Driven, Development
To profitably expand the upper end of the DStv market in South Africa, by targeting key consumer trends, need states and occasions
To work closely with the National Sales team to build effective relationships with distributor, trade marketing and sales, maximising brand share of voice in the upper end of the market
Drive rigorous evaluation of all key activities and build learning’s into future plans
To write inspiring, clear and concise briefs for partner agencies as part of the planning process.
Ensure all internal and external key stakeholders and departments are engaged and energized around the DStv upper markets brand plan.
Drive high performance relationships with current local agencies and new, future partner agencies as relevant, delivering leading edge marketing programs, which strengthen consumer engagement and off take.

Competencies Functional Competencies

Must possess a passion for brand building and have the ability to inspire and motivate others to deliver brand marketing excellence.
Able to work with minimum supervision and independently prioritizes tasks.
Ability to effectively manage budget
Manage agency relationship
Highly brand literate with a strong affinity for the consumer and their motivations.
Strong financial and analytical acumen
Significant experience of the major marketing disciplines required: brand planning, advertising development, media planning etc.
Significant experience in qual and quant research, including generating a research brief, understanding differing methodologies and being fully versed in consumer insight generation


Behavioral Competencies

Good Teamwork & interpersonal skills. Persuasive, able to put across a point of view convincingly. Able to work with and through people to accomplish goals.
Strong communication skills. Solid presentation development and delivery skills. High standard of English Language – written and verbal.
Self-motivated, have energy and drive
Analytical ability to identify key issues and opportunities and create clarity out of complexity
Commercially aware and able to integrate customer agenda into thinking.

Qualification

Degree with Marketing as a major or Marketing Diploma
Minimum 4years in marketing related position
Experience in managing people advantageous
