Introduction
The above-mentioned position is currently available in the Retail Management Information department at our Retail: Finance & Business Intelligence division/business unit based at our office in Parc du Cap, Bellville, Cape Town.
The purpose of the role is to design and develop quality solutions in support of business intelligence solutions and data warehousing .
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
Design and develop feasible technical specifications and process flows for data provision activities in support of the development of business intelligence solutions (extraction and transformation of data, loading of data into appropriate data warehousing structures);
Develop and test data extraction, transformation and load routines for population of data warehouse and data marts as well as the provision of data extracts;
Quality assurance of data provided;
Liaise with business analysts in terms of business requirements;
Provide support to business intelligence users on data related issues;
Creation of valuable management information through the creation of meaningful reports and cubes (construction of multi-dimensional cubes, publishing of cubes & reports);
Maintenance and enhancement to existing business intelligence solutions;
Administration to existing business intelligence solutions.
The applicant should meet these requirements:
A relevant diploma or B-degree in Information Technology (NQF 6 / 7);
A minimum of 2 years Information Technology experience;
Experience in systems analysis;
Programming, relational database or ETL experience;
Programming experience in BI technologies;
Experience in business intelligence or data warehousing;
Strong understanding of dimensional processing;
Strong SQL and report writing experience;
Willingness to perform standby duties.
Recommendations
Experience with Oracle, DB2, SAS, SPSS, Cognos, Qlikview;
Experience in the Financial Services industry with a background on
Scoring models, Predictive and Cluster Analysis.
