Description


Job Purpose

Manage the performance of transactional banking operational staff in order to ensure compliant, effective and accurate processing of client requests and instructions

Key Responsibilities

Identify and implement innovative solutions to challenging client enquiries
Resolve all journal related issues on a daily basis
Monitor and analyse performance trends and implement corrective measures
Maintain and improve operational and service quality
Capture, generate and extract operational statistics and ad hoc reports
Identify ways to improve current processes and propose ways to improve customer experience
Identify capacity constraints and make recommendations where additional capacity or equipment may be required.
Identify process risks, possible fraud and possible failures
Monitor employee compliance statistics
Participate in projects and initiatives impacting the business unit
Initiate new business ideas and formulate implementation requirements and measures
Review and update the departments organisation structure and role profiles regularly
Ensure that Code of Good Practice targets are met for the team
Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams
Manage cost within approved budget
Ensure compliance to policies, legislation and regulations and that staff compliance training and attestations are in place
Perform people management functions, including but not limited to
workforce and recruitment demand planning

management of discipline and grievances

reward and recognition management
training and development

General

The appointment will be made in line with the Divisional Employment Equity strategy
Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

National Diploma in Banking or Business or equivalent NQF level 5 qualification
Three (3) years experience in general banking
Two (2) years experience in electronic or transactional banking products or operations
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
No criminal record

Preferred Requirements

One (1) year experience in people management
Two (2) years experience in Absa electronic or transactional banking products
