Description


Job Purpose

Manage and monitor the activities of a team of credit sanctioners, by assisting, supporting, developing and coaching the team members to ensure high level of quality risk assessments, asset growth, adherence to agreed service levels, performance objectives and client solutioning are met

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timeous, high level quality credit assessment and sanctioning
• Ensure that credit applications are investigated with all possible options considered
• Act as an escalation point and key agent for execution of new policies, procedures, process and systems
• Take responsibility for the achievement of performance targets and objectives
• Assign sanctioners to portfolio based on an assessment of the existing operations
• Provide requested management information
• Maintain a credit evaluation platform to facilitate standardised, consistent and high quality lending practises
• Monitor listings, reports and application queues and ensure adherence to SLA's
• Assess and provide recommendations on credit applications and excess reports
• Maintain and submit performance, status and other reports
• Assist with the structuring and solutioning of complex credit applications
• Monitor out of order, impaired and dormant accounts to ensure best credit solution and action
• Ensure the effective management of credit mandates allocated to individuals
• Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:
o workforce and recruitment demand planning
o recruitment
o talent management and succession planning
o mentoring and coaching
o management of discipline and grievances
o performance development
o reward and recognition management
o training and development
• Review and update the departments organisation structure and role profiles regularly
• Ensure that Code of Good Practice targets are met for the team
• Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams
• Manage cost within approved budget
• Ensure compliance to policies, legislation and regulations and that staff compliance training and attestations are in place

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements

• B Com in Accounting or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification
• Five (5) years Credit experience
• Extensive credit sanctioning experience at a senior level
• Experienced holder of a Credit Mandate of at least R5 million
• Ability to function independently, across functional levels, at various levels
and on a matrix basis
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
• No criminal record

Preferred Requirements

• Commercial post graduate qualification or B Com in Accounting or Law
• Five (5) years sanctioning under personal mandate of not less than R15 million
• Management experience within credit
• Previous corporate or business banking exposure
• Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
