Introduction

The customer insights analyst will work closely with the buying groups and their brand managers to ensure that the organization understand their customers and leverage the information to act on opportunities.
Minimum Requirements

Technical Skills
BCOM Business Science/Statistics/IT or similar degree
3-5 years analysis experience in a relevant organisation
Experience in data mining and working with large databases
A sound knowledge of interpreting and analysing information (i.e. strong analytical skills)
Experience using SAS software applications
Ability to write SQL queries
Advanced MS Excel knowledge
Understanding the business environment and processes (i.e. business sense)
Ability to apply techniques in a practical way within a business environment
High attention to detail
Experience in the retail sector advantageous

Job Specification

Analysis of internal transactional information to build a detailed understanding of our customers based on their purchases. Leverage cardholder information, where available, to build demographic skews and highlight customer trends.
Use external market research data to obtain insights into Woolworths and our competitors’ customer needs, perceptions, motivations, expectations, budgets, lifestyles and shopping behaviour.
Provide ongoing operational as well as ad hoc customer reporting that is easily accessible and available timorously to key stakeholders in the organization.
Work closely with the buying groups to ensure that the organization have a thorough understanding of their customers.
Continuously identify new ways of how customer information can enhance business decisions and ensure the organization “puts the customer first in everything we do”.
Derive customer insights and apply these to future initiatives.
Ensure that the customer models are kept up-to-date and relevant.
Work with BI to ensure that customer data requirements are met.
Analyse and report on customers’ response to promotions and marketing activities.
