Job Mission
•To define, develop and implement a Managed Services product and portfolio strategy for the MTN Group
KPA Duties
Key Tasks: • Develop global product strategy, product portfolio and roadmap for managed network solutions • Define Go-to-Market strategy focusing on innovation and revenue streams, working hand in hand with product managers of MTN Nigeria and South Africa and the global carrier services division to enhance the delivery of Managed network services • Collaborate with the other units of the Group and Global Carrier Services for Procurement, Implementation and Monitoring Services • Lead a team of global experts and virtual teams around the world to identify strategic partners for delivery of new Managed network products and services that can be implemented across MTN OpCos • Manage overall product lifecycle for managed network global products • Interface with OpCo Pre-sales and Design teams in support of large or strategic opportunities • Define pricing of managed network solutions, including internal OpCo pricing and business case alongside OpCo product managers and the global carrier services commercial team • Define Service Level Agreements and customer-specific reporting of this service, both internal (OpCos) and external end customers • Prepare and circulate documentation of service: marketing manuals, annexes to contracts (Service Description, Manual of Operations, Pricing, Terms of Service), training documentation and business presentations Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks: • Collaborate across OpCos to drive Managed Services products and Services • Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation • Manage performance of team. • Possess the authority; presence and integrity to command respect from colleagues and from external contacts • Planning and organising • Foster Team and independent work • Foster cross functional collaboration between IT, products, technology , Sales and marketing to deliver ENTERPRISE services Role Dependencies: • Group EXCO support of the ENTERPRISE strategy and other significant business unit • Group IT, Group Technology, Group Products and Services • Multinational Companies and Strategic partnerships. Creativities (improvement/innovation inherent) Indicates the potential for improvement and / or innovation inherent in a position. •Develop strategic partnerships to enhance ENTERPRISE Products &Services •Global partnerships to deliver in the Group ENTERPRISE function Vulnerabilities (control span) Refers to the latent difficulties, or things that could potentially go wrong that affect a specific position. Such vulnerabilities may / may not be under the control of the incumbent. Direct implication or first level of impact. • No direct control over OpCo’s marketing approach to ENTERPRISE. • Limited resources and skills in some operations. • Rapid growth of the products and services MTN Group. • Heavy reliance on collaboration and partnerships to deliver ENTERPRISE. Requirements
Education: • BSC IT/Computer Engineering • MBA/Business qualification preferred Training: • Financial management • Product management • Networks training Knowledge: • Managed Network Services • VAS • New product development and management • Telecoms Industry • Knowledge of global MNS market
Experience: • Min 10 years relevant industry experience with min 5 years relevant product management experience in MNS
