Experience & Requirements:


6 - 8 years (in total) Experience in the areas of Employees Relations. Highly specialised Employees Relations / negotiations with the exposure to the Labour Law (Essential / Minimum) (Operational)
3 years Highly specialised Employee Relations/Negotiations background with exposure to the Labour Law environment (Essential / Minimum) (Operational)
3 years HR Operations (Essential / Minimum) (Operational)

Key Performance Areas:


BUSINESS PERFORMANCE AND OPERATIONS
Implement and institutionalise Exxaro ER strategy, philosophy, policy and principles. Ensuring equitable and rewarding recognition practices aligned with Exxaro strategy. Advise Line Management and HR on policies procedures legislation and agreements in respect of ER and Wellness. Develop and execute ER objectives and plan to ensure an effective ER climate. Supporting the business plan and achievement of business goals and objectives. Collecting the information regarding the ER climate – rumours tendencies union rivalry leadership etc Evaluate the information and make recommendation. Develop strategies that will address tendencies/problem areas and give advice on preventative measures to line management and HR. Provide professional independent advice to line and HR regarding the application of the disciplinary procedure and appeals (individual and group disciplinary matters).
SPECIALISED SUPPORT
Advise the line and HR regarding the application of grievances procedure (individual and group grievances).Audit and evaluate all disciplinary and grievance cases for correctness and advise on identified mistakes to prevent reoccurrences. Execute and resume responsibilities for representing the company in conciliation and arbitration proceedings. Advise on issues that are strike able (develop company strike management procedure).Manage the wellness programs and HIV/AIDS strategy on BU. Investigate and follow up on ill health cases, monitor progress and advise on solutions. Execute and resume responsibility for collective bargaining. Develop consultation strategy for collective and individual consultation for the BU. Administers Employment Equity. Verify trade union memberships and monitor activities. Conduct and facilitate negotiations with the trade unions. Develop and provide ER related training to line, HR, shop steward and employees (Legislation agreements etc).
COMPLIANCE, GOVERNANCE AND ASSURANCE
Assess, audit and ensures compliance with all statutory requirements by conducting market analysis, networking and benchmarking. Advise on the development of labour relations policy and principles as well as integration of related guidelines and procedures. Ensures that the BU complies with corporate governance, statutory, legal and other requirements (SLP, Employment Equity, Mining Charter, and WSP/ART). Ensuring the achievement of Employment Equity targets within designated area. Ensures that the HR practices and policies comply with legislatives requirements (LRA, BCEA, EEA, COID, UIF, SDA, MHSA, BBBEE and Mining Charter).
FINANCE
Managing and controlling the allocation of funds to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure. Assisting in compiling the budget by providing information based on operational and resources requirements basis.
CUSTOMER AND CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Maintaining relationships with both internal and external customers to promote department and overall company image. Ensures that customers within the BU are satisfied with the delivery of employee relations services. Maintaining a positive relationship with the trade union and related representatives. Attend to customer‘s requests and complaints. Conduct regular follow ups to ensure that problems have been resolved
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Promote teamwork provide support and manage performance on a regular basis. Ensure that own IDP and subordinates are active and track-able. Apply leading edge ER practices to optimise the business benefit of all stakeholders. Identify best practices across the system and ensure that successful programs are shared across the company. Key Performance Areas:
Appointments are dependent on the completion of a successful medical examination and receipt of a valid medical certificate. Exxaro facilicates such medical examinations where required.
