Job Mission

•To identify, coordinate and successfully deploy local products and services across various MTN OpCos whilst taking into cognisance unique continental and intercontinental market peculiarities

KPA Duties

Key Tasks: Indicates those KPA’s that are essential to the position itself. These are normally specific to the incumbent, the job, and the function. Excludes role and leadership / management. • Lead ENTERPRISE P&S committee with main responsibility of coordinating local P&S roadmaps across MTN OpCos, • Identify best practices and support the implementation of standardized products across multiple OpCos • Identify local P&S with export potential across MTN OpCos, and areas of synergy through build, procurement, partnerships and overall delivery • Define guidelines on standardization of product design, build, pricing ,SLAs and overall execution of local exportable products • Support local OpCos in the roll-out of exported products and manage overall P&S roadmap and releases across OpCos • Perform periodic analysis and solutions grid report highlighting gaps between existing solutions and inherent needs of the various markets Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks: Refers to the responsibilities for directing, guiding, motivating and influencing others. • Lead virtual teams of product managers • Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation • Manage performance of team. • Possess the authority; presence and integrity to command respect from colleagues and from external contacts • Planning and organising • Foster Team and independent work • Foster cross functional collaboration between Group and various OpCos IT, products, technology , Sales and marketing units to deliver ENTERPRISE products and services Role Dependencies: Does not refer to the various “roles” that the incumbent has to assume in the conducting of the duties. Instead, this would be additional complexity that should not be inherent in this job, but the incumbent has responsibility for. •Group EXCO support of the ENTERPRISE strategy and other significant business unit •Group IT, Group Technology, Group Products and Services •Multinational Companies and Strategic partnerships. Creativities (improvement/innovation inherent) Indicates the potential for improvement and / or innovation inherent in a position. •Develop strategic partnerships with P&S suppliers to enhance ENTERPRISE Products &Services •Global partnerships to deliver in the Group ENTERPRISE function Vulnerabilities (control span) Refers to the latent difficulties, or things that could potentially go wrong that affect a specific position. Such vulnerabilities may / may not be under the control of the incumbent. Direct implication or first level of impact. • Negotiate with product developers • No direct control over OpCo’s marketing approach to ENTERPRISE. • Limited resources and skills in some operations. Dearth of required skill set • Rapid growth of the products and services within the MTN Group. • Heavy reliance on collaboration and partnerships to deliver ENTERPRISE products and services. Independent thought and Judgment: Relates to the decision-making constraints place upon a position or conversely, the degree of freedom in decision-making. • Exploration of the market and global trends to recommend future direction. • Discretionary space to determine • Alternative processes and solutions • Innovation to improve value and efficiency.

Requirements

Education: • BSC IT/ Engineering • MBA/Business qualification preferred Training: • Product and Marketing training • Financial management • Product management Knowledge: • Technical training • New product development and management • Telecoms industry • Knowledge of African markets
• Min 10 years relevant industry experience with min 5 years in ENTERPRISE products in Africa/ME region • Product development and management
• Strategic thinking • Commercial acumen and financial competency • Communication Skills • Partner mgt • Presentation Skills • Business Finance Skills
