The Communications Officer is line-managed by the Communications Director and has functional working relationships with the GP Africa Forest Campaign Manager and the Forest Network Congo Communication coordinator. The communication Officer also has functional work relationships with other colleagues within Greenpeace and with the GP Af communications team. The position is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with regular travel to the Congo Basin.
Overall goal of the Job
To lead, develop and implement the communication strategy, media plans and creative concepts for the Congo Basin Forest Campaign in Africa.
Adhere to identity guidelines and profiling plans for the Congo Basin Forest Campaign and Greenpeace Africa.
Ensure the delivery of agreed communication strategies in alignment with the Greenpeace Africa Organization Development Plan and the overall programme Direction.
