SENIOR SPECIALIST ENVIRONMENTAL, KUMBA IRON ORE, KOLOMELA MINE, NORTHERN CAPE

The role:

You will be responsible for the management of water, air, ecology, soil, EIA (environmental impact assessment), EMP's, rehabilitation, pollution ect. Manage the farms in an economical, sustainable and environmental friendly manner. Implement, maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure effective management of day to day activities to minimise the impact on the environment. Ensure compliance to requirements of triple bottom line (people, planet and prosperity) reporting in terms of the environment. Manage environmental related projects and financial expenditure within the approved budget to ensure maximum benefit to the environment. The role also involves utilisation and deployment of human resources to maximise personal and organisational benefit. The existence and maintenance of a safe, healthy and environmental friendly work environment without the risk of injuries or damage to equipment or the environment

You will need:

Competence: Managerial skills, ability to display a healthy administrative responsibility, knowledge of Mine, Health and Safety Act. Environmental control, acquainted with designated area, leadership skills, communication skills, persuasive skills,

self-confidence, relationship building, analytical thinking, highly motivated, ability to handle stress and ability to function independently

Attributes: Time conscious, performance driven, results driven, structured, organised, high energy level, assertive

Requirements:

You must have a B-Degree in Environmental and Engineering Geology, at least 4 years Geo-hydrology experience, at least 3 years Environmental management experience as well as a valid driver's license.

You will be required to pass a medical fitness certificate in order to be considered for this position. Applicants may also be subjected to physical testing when going for the medical fitness certificate.

Remuneration:

The initial salary will be determined in accordance with Kumba Iron Ore Ltd. regulations. This position is an Anglo Band 6 (Kumba Iron Ore E-Role)
