Description


Job Purpose

To manage the performance of the Investment team by providing leadership, advice and guidance to enable them to achieve agreed business targets in line with business strategy and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the execution of sales campaigns. During sales campaign the incumbent should provide input as well as initiate, design and prepare sales campaigns
• Achieve financial targets for volume and income growth across all segments
• Ensure that performance variances are analysed and determine the root causes and make recommendations
• Problems that may result in the reduction in income (e.g. pricing related matters)
• Institute appropriate measures to ensure adherence to budget and material expenditures are in line with the value for money concept
• Conform to employment equity targets within the division
• Deliver presentations to management when required regarding the results and operations in the regions
• Develop and implement appropriate models to enable sales
• Provide performance feedback to Divisional Head at management meetings on reviewed sales progress against targets and creating alternative actions
• Keep abreast with market innovations
• Monitor the performance of the sales team and annual basis and provide coaching and feedback on how to improve performance
• Optimise business opportunities to ensure that the clients and business needs are aligned to the business strategy
• Provide input to the Product Team to assist the team in designing new products and enhancing existing products
• Attend the monthly meetings with team to collate and gather the necessary information
• Ensure that regional staff are regularly made aware of the business imperatives and their required roles in achieving these
• Analyse sales and retention processes and identify new opportunities therein and also streamlining current sales and retention functions
• Analyse reports from the Finance and MI unit, identify trends and patterns and assess the connections
• Ensure that adequate management information is available
• Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:
o workforce and recruitment demand planning
o recruitment
o talent management and succession planning
o mentoring and coaching
o management of discipline and grievances
o performance development
o reward and recognition management
o training and development
• Review and update the departments organisation structure and role profiles regularly
• Ensure that Code of Good Practice targets are met for the team
• Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams
• Manage cost within approved budget
• Ensure compliance to policies, legislation and regulations and that staff compliance training and attestations are in place

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

• B Com or B Degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher
• Five (5) years general banking experience / investment / treasury / financial services experience
• Three (3) years in managerial role
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
• No criminal record

Preferred requirements

• Treasury Management Environment
• Five (5) years Business Banking or Retail experience
• Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
