Brief Description



Role Description:

This role determines and documents business requirements and works with design & implementation staff to design & implement solutions within constraints.

Business Analysis



· Analyses past, present and future business environment.

· Analyses business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for improvement.



Solution Design & Implementation



· Works closely with the systems analyst and project manager to design and implement the best possible automated solution within the constraints of the tools available.



Specifications Development



· Investigates and defines requirements for business processes.

· Documents requirements including data modeling, interface layouts, data flows, screen and report layouts, etc.



System Testing



· Tests systems and user acceptance and implements changes or new applications.

· Ensures all testing protocols are adhered to.



User Support



· Renders support and facilitates sessions for end-users, including training.


Job Requirements


Role Qualifications:

· Matric Certificate required.

· Business analysis diploma or related qualification would be required.

· Testing qualification and experience would be preferable.

· Ideally have a proven track record experience as a Business Analyst (at least 3-5 years working experience), regarding Business Cases, Proposals, Functional specifications, Use Cases, Test plans and Test execution.

· Understanding of the various Insurance Industry business models and supporting processes/systems will be beneficial.

· Available on weekends/after hours (as required) to facilitate implementation of enhancements.

· Ability to follow procedures and governances as set out by SDLC (system development life cycle) and Old Mutual.

· Relevant PC literacy:Windows, MS Word, Excell, Access, Powerpoint, Visio.
