Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the Banking environment and to build a drive strong relationships with Bank colleagues
• Campaign leads within the bank by actively driving and participating in campaigns in the Bank

• Conduct a full client portfolio investigation
• Analyse and evaluate the clients' financial status
• Develop and present financial planning recommendations and alternatives
• Implement the financial planning recommendations
• Monitor the financial planning recommendations
• Draft a client contact plan that forms the basis of practice management
• Provide feedback on progress by means of regular reports, formal and informal coaching session

  Job Title: Finance Manager

We require an innovative, middle-management level Finance Manager, with the skills to oversee, monitor, advise, support, implement, and deliver solutions by dedicated service to two departments, namely: the Development & Alumni Department (DAD) and the Communication & Marketing Department (CMD). This post is directly accountable to the Manager: Operations Finance and Projects and is responsible at a daily level to both the Executive Director: DAD and the Executive Director: CMD.

As part of the senior administrative team within these operational units, and as a key member of the Finance Department, you will provide high level financial advice and operational support to the Executive Directors and department heads within the two departments, as well as undertake various ad hoc projects as needs arise.

Requirements include:

An accounting degree (B.Com or other equivalent accounting or management accounting / costing qualification) OR equivalent experience, which at this level will equate to 7-10 years with similar /same responsibilities, is essential.
A minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience with exposure to various aspects of finance and accounting, including leadership and management experience.
A broad knowledge and understanding of financial and management accounting principles, with proven high level analytical and interpretive abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with sound interpersonal skills.
Sound presentation and report writing skills.
A commitment to the provision of excellent client service in a cross-cultural environment.
Proven computer literacy in the use of MS Excel and ERP systems at an intermediate to advanced level is essential.

Purpose of the Job

1.Financial analysis

2.Financial forecasting
•Elaborating financial projections based on predefined templates and timelines provided by the Finance department. This activity requires interfacing with relevant areas of the business, and requires robust interrogation and review of assumptions and trends presented in budgets and forecasts.
•Creating new forecasting templates for new areas of analysis, if required
3.Financial Reporting
•Supporting the preparation of financial reports such as:
oAnnual, Quarterly and Monthly financial statements,
oManagement, shareholder and investors reports
oProfitability reports such as product, tariffs, channel, IT and NW platforms profitability
oThis activity requires interfacing with relevant areas of the business, and is done according to predefined timelines by the Finance department.
•Reviewing the financial reports, identifying and correcting inconsistencies between different data sources, identifying trends, providing appropriate commentary, and ensuring an appropriate level of insight on the performance of the company.
4.Team involvement

Purpose of the Job

To support the elaboration of business plans, budgets and forecasts, business cases and financial reports, with the focus of the activities adjusted to the specific department they are assigned to, in the Financial Planning and Analysis department. Key Duties & Responsibilities

1.Financial analysis

3.Financial Reporting

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Securing financing for PFSA’s Financial Education and Consumer Protection programmes (under the supervision of PFSA’s Executive Director)  Design and implement a fundraising strategy for Financial Education and Consumer Protection programmes  Research market and engage new donors/grant opportunities, local stakeholders and technical partners – develop a funder map for financial education and consumer protection in the region  Lead or collaborate on proposals for public and/or private funders  Draft communication materials to support fundraising  Fundraising activities, including attending events and organizing fundraising road shows  Perform intelligence/monitoring for new funding opportunities  Liaise with the PlaNet Finance network to share opportunities, lessons, ideas  Update a contact database of relevant stakeholders, associate consultants and potential partners  Assist other members of the PFSA team in the development of project proposals that include a Financial Education or Consumer Protection component  Provide regular updates and contributions in the PFSA monitoring tool on opportunities and proposals that are under development

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT Building PFSA’s expertise on Financial Education and Consumer Protection

 Conduct secondary research to stay abreast of trends, best practice and important events in financial education and consumer protection  Exchange ideas with experts both within and outside of the PlaNet Finance network  Contribute to relevant documents in the PFSA library  Share local knowledge and expertise with the PF network  Develop and enhance PFSA’s methodological guide on financial education and consumer protection based on experiences in projct implementation and lessons learnt

KEY REQUIREMENTS

 At least 2 years of professional experience, preferably more  Previous experience in proposal writing / business development / fundraising is preferred  Previous experience project implementation / coordination experience  Previous experience in financial education or in product development.  Computer literacy in Microsoft Office  Rigorous, self-driven, innovative and cost sensitive  Attention to detail  Organised, ability to prioritise and manage time effectively  Written and spoken command of English  Written and spoken knowledge of French is preferable, but not essential
