Key Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Investment Manager the financial analyst will be responsible for overall financial analysis of projects applying to the Green Fund and when required also contribute to the financial issues in the administration of the Fund
The incumbent will be expected to:
Financial appraisal and analysis of new project proposals/applications
Appraising new investment proposals (due diligence) and opportunities
Commercial analysis, financial modelling and analysis, credit risk and institutional analysis
Preparing appraisal/credit reports for project
Oversee disbursements to approved projects as well as monitor project progress post investment
Prepare clients financial profiles
Support the Funds annual financial activities such as budgeting
Liaison with DBSA stakeholders (e.g. credit risk, finance and legal units)
Provide inputs on the Funds’ financial policy issues and related matters
Expertise & Technical Competencies:
B Com degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate professional field related to Finance, and Business
5 years experience in appraising, negotiating and closing Project Finance, Corporate Finance or Structured Finance transactions
Strong credit and risk analysis skills
Demonstrable track record of originating, structuring and closing project financing transactions
Must be able to comprehensively analyse financial statements
Must be able to independently conduct financial model reviews and analysis
Must be familiar with types of agreements/contracts typically used in non/limited recourse finance
