Permanent junior level position at Standard Bank of South Africa in the Financial industry.
Job Purpose
To assist the Commercial Financial Manager in overseeing the finance function for the Commercial business for SBIB.
In addition to provide financial support to the Commercial business unit.
Key Result Areas
SBIB :.
To ensure that all the income for all the Commercial products have been correctly accounted for on a monthly basis.
To review all reconciliations relating the Commercial accounts (eg : Bank recons, ICC, clients control, etc).
To effectively manage my direct reports in terms of performance as well as career development.
To review the Commercial management accounts and to constantly look for ways to improve.
Ensuring adherence to the internal controls as well as the improvement and development of such.
Preparation of the monthly SILC Bordereaux submitted to SIL.
Maintenance of the SILC SAP environment.
This includes changing of monthly accounting periods as well as monitoring for process errors from i90 into SAP.
Providing support to the Commercial Financial Manager.
Perform other adhoc requirements within finance.
To support business and direct reports.
The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:
Ability
Must be fully computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
To have the personality to work with both highly and medium skilled people.
Be able to project manage various assignments both as individually and within teams.
Experience
Experience in SAP would be advantageous.
Must have a minimum of 2 years working experience in financial management role.
Preference will be given to insurance industry experience.
Knowledge
BCom / BCom (Hons).
