Assistant to the Fixed Assets Accountant


 KPA duties
 
Assist with the reconciliation of fixed asset register to the general ledger
Reconciliation of fixed assets accrual accounts
Assist with clearing of reconciliation differences
Assist with compiling an age analysis of recon differences
Assist with the monitoring of invoice receiving process between payables and fixed assets
Assist with compiling working papers for fixed assets
Monitoring of the CIP by compiling reports and liaising with the project accountants to capitalize projects upon completion
Assisting with policies and procedure for the department

Role complexity:

• Assist in any ad hoc functions/projects relating to fixed assets


 Educational requirements
 
B.Com or B Compt accounting or equivalent


 Experience required
 
1-2 years accounting experience


 Skills required
 
Knowledge:

• Oracle Fixed Assets module knowledge
• Generally accepted accounting practice (GAAP/IFRS)
• Understanding of the MTN accounting system, processes and procedures

Skills / physical competencies:

• Strong reconciliation skills and an analytical mind.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong on communication skills both verbally and written.
• Attention to detail

• Presentation skills
• Interpersonal skills
