Job Description Main Purpose of the Job:
An opportunity exists to work in the Business Intelligence Department based in Cape Town for a BI Developer responsible for ongoing implementation, delivery and maintenance of various data mart and warehouse requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• At least 5 years experience as a developer in a data-related field with first-hand exposure to data systems, databases and information delivery
• A tertiary degree or diploma in IT, IS or Informatics is recommended
• System Design skills
• Excellent knowledge and experience of data systems, data structures and data models
• Excellent knowledge of data quality issues and design of data cleansing/transformation processes
• Experience of integrating data from many disparate complex systems
• Excellent SQL and/or PL/SQL skills
• Experience of creating and maintaining ETL processes
• Experience in ETL software (eg Microsoft SSIS, DTS, Talend)
• Experience in BI software (eg Cognos, Business Objects etc) will be advantageous, especially in the modelling components
• Experience of the ISP/Internet/Telecommunications industry will be advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities • Establishment of data marts and data stores through ETL processes according to technical specifications and established architecture
• Exercise best practice ETL implementation standards which include data assessment, data cleansing and post ETL data verification methods
• Maintenance and enhancement of existing data warehouse components
• Translation of the output of ETL processes into information layers exposed to information consumers
• Knowledge transfer and management.
