Diploma Mineral Resource Management ( Recommended/Desirable )

Experience & Requirements:


6-8 (in total) Commodity Geology, Mining and Metallurgical processes Operational (Essential / Minimum)
3 Geological ore body modelling; Geological database management including SQL databases Operational (Recommended / Desirable)
3 Project Portfolio Management experience Management (Essential / Minimum)
Computer Literacy – GIS and / or modelling and programming (Essential / Minimum)
Computer Literacy – MS Office Suite; SAP (Essential / Minimum)
Certificate – Medically fit for duty (Essential / Minimum)

Key Performance Areas:


BUSINESS PERFOMANCE AND CI
Provide specialised competencies for the delivery of professional Spatial Information Management services. Translate Spatial Information Management standards into systems, structures and processes to support its implementation. Effective use of geological standards, principles and practice for the planning, design and implementation of 3D models to support exploration and operational projects. Identify needs and support Principal Geologist with all discipline related technical issues. Supervise and ensure the execution of projects in adherence to MAM SLAs and service delivery standards for all service delivery. Increase awareness of technology advancements to ensure Exxaro has access to appropriate cutting edge technology to meet business deliverables and can continue to expand technical base to access new areas of business. Provide inputs and technical leadership in Geosciences discipline meetings and draft technical publications as required.
COMPLIANCE,GOVERNANCE AND ASSURANCE
Apply controls to ensure legal and best practice compliance in accordance with the MPRDA (Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act) and SAMREC (South African Code for the Reporting of Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves). Provide and participate in governance systems for best practice. Adhere to the requirements of quality management systems.
CONSULTING AND PROJECT SERVICES
Adhere to Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Standards, eg. Invoicing on schedule and delivery of milestone on schedule. Work in a project team so that results are delivered on time and on budget to support mining operations in BU’s and adopt high project management standards.
EFFECTIVE PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Support the development and implementation of systems and initiatives to drive performance excellence for the discipline. Create, inspire and lead high-performance teams in the discipline Implement successful change initiatives in the discipline. Coordinate the optimal utilization and sourcing of appropriate resources (including external Specialist Consultants) for the discipline.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Manage cost recovery in line with department budget.
PROJECTS AND CI
Updated knowledge of geological best practice. Participate in investigations of improvement opportunities and service issues to enable the development of solutions toward optimising applicable processes / systems. Participate in the evaluation of discipline-specific standards, principles and practice to enable planning, design and implementation of engineering outcomes that support the business strategy. Participate in the implementation of appropriate quality management systems to ensure delivery of high quality projects and engineering outcomes. Contribute to the development and implementation of an appropriate approach to knowledge management for the discipline in line with business needs.
