National Diploma with ECSA Professional Technician or equivalent
Code 08 Drivers licence

Key Responsibilities

Supervision and team leadership for the sub -section by :
Co-ordinating the sub-section functions and ensuring execution of the outputs in line with the departmental plans and objectives
Ensure that maintenance plans are in place and reviewed on a planned basis in order that the department's budget is realistic and timeously in place to ensure effective financial control of operational activities.
Ensures application and enhancement of maintenance programmes on a pro-active basis as well as effective and optimal utilisation of resources.
Ensures team members operate and implement activities based on sound business principles.
Ensures that grievance and disciplinary issues are addressed in terms of Eskom's Code, Procedures and directives.
Financial management and Governance for the sub section by:
Monitoring the budget and ensuring effective financial control within the section .
Monitoring contracts and ensuring aligment to the contractual obligations and timelines
Ensuring adhrence to business governance requirements, standards, polices, procedures & related legislation e.g. manadatory training courses, Dx processes and procedures, ect
Conducting regular information sharing sessions with staff on issues of governanace and monitoring the application thereof
Peforming regular audits on the practices within the sub section and ensuring compliance
Staff Development by :
Providing learning opportunities where required and ensuring coaching where necessary
Ensuring that personnel are trained in accordance with business need
Provide Specialist Technical Training
Managing the training & staff support for the section
Carrying out plant related safety investigations
Motivates staff and makes use of group discussions to identify and resolve problem areas where possible.
Ensure effective utilisation of resources and provides learning opportunities where required in terms of effectively managing performance of the department, and reviews and updates practical operating guidelines.
Assumes leadership in respect of emergency situations.
Ensures that personnel are trained in accordance with business need
Safety & Risk Management and emergency preparedness by:
Implementation, monitoring & control of Safety Systems in the sub-section
Providing plans and resources to meet defined emergencies within defined time constraints and the execution thereof.
Ensuring post-emergency evaluation to determine effectiveness of plans and actions.
Ensuring adherance to safety plans and standards to ensure that statutory and group requirements are met.
Identify risks and mplementing risk mitigation actions
Stakeholder management by:
Monitoring service delivery within the subsection and providing support to internal and external customers
Integrating & co-coordinating deliverables from external resources/professional services
Reporting on performance and overall sub section's projects to the business, development of necessary docuementation and ensuring the keeping of stats and quality checks.
Developing and proposing solutions, making recommendations to other groups on Technical aspects relating to the sub-section.
Secondary Plant Performance Enhancementby:
Continuous monitoring of plant performance, identification of problem areas and provides recommendation for improvements thereof.
Provides regular statistical data, KPIs and reports relating to performance and maintenance of the respective plant
Insure that system refurbishment and capital projects are timeously identified and motivated-co-ordeinates / monitors refurbishment activities through to completion .
Monitors and evaluates secondary plant performance of the CLN,. identifies deviations from standards and requirements and takes appropriate corrective action.
Managing the process of maintanance and perfomance data services within the sub-section.
