Introduction
An experienced Claims Manager is required to establish the claims function for the business unit serving one of Metropolitan Health's major clients
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
Managing the claims capturing and assessing system
The development and enhancement of the system as well as other related systems and procedures
Controlling of the system workflow and workload according to processing deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Regular interaction with Internal and External Service Providers and Business Partners
Successful development and implementation of internal controls
Continuously improving the work processes and playing a role in moving the business further into E-Commerce
Ensuring that the rules of the scheme and benefit provisions are accurately applied and that changes to rules, benefits and tariffs are timeously and accurately loaded
Monitoring quality and productivity levels in accordance with required performance levels and contracts
Maximising efficiency and minimising administrative costs
Ensuring that internal and external service level agreements are adhered to for the Scheme
Preparing, interpreting and presenting of accurate claims information and monthly management reports relating to the Claims department. (Including monthly formal feedback to the Senior Executive of the Business Unit.)
Managing Claims related projects
Staff Management (Incl. Staff training, development and performance management)
The applicant should meet these requirements:
Matric or grade 12 equivalent
A Bachelors Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
Minimum of 3 years People Management, Claims Leadership experience
Understanding and Proficiency in Medical Aid Industry
Competency in Claims and other business operations environment
The ability to effectively lead and motivate your team will enable you to effectively perform this function. (Experience covering the aforementioned and other related tasks.)
Commitment to ongoing personal learning in a continuously changing environment
Project Management skills with hands-on experience and action orientation
Competencies Required
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise at various levels
Strong understanding of manual and computer systems and processes
Self-reliance, a team spirit and the ability to effectively handle pressure
Time management effective co-ordination and facilitation of projects and duties
