Job Title: Actuarial Specialist (Reference # 9648)

Introduction
The above- mentioned position is currently available in the Actuarial Valuations Department in the Retail Division, and is based at our head office in Bellville, Cape Town.
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
Reporting on the Quarterly Actuarial valuations of the Retail business, including:
•Reserving calculations on the statutory and reporting base;
•Embedded value calculations for new business and in-force book;
•Analysis of surplus and change in embedded value;
•Capital Adequacy requirements.
•Producing cash flows projections for budgeting and model office purposes;
•Assisting with the various statutory returns and other compliance-related tasks;
•Liaising with colleagues from other departments, such as asset managers, marketing managers, accountants, product development, actuarial research, systems programmers and policy administration;
•Assisting with the asset-liability matching process;
•Bonus investigation for the purposes of making bonus recommendations.
The applicant should meet these requirements:
•Matric or Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF level;
•Actuarial or B-degree with Mathematics and Statistics as a majors;
•Passed a minimum of two (2) CT-series subjects.
Recommendations
•Experience with Actuarial software such as MoSes, VIP, Prophet or Glean;
•Programming experience in VBA, SQL, Foxpro or other Database software.
