Introduction
To ensure quality delivery of optimum performance and stability of systems, and ensure ideal integration to the broader ITS environment. To interpret and transform business requirements into well-defined system solutions and technical specifications. This is a permanent position based at the Head Office in Cape Town City Centre.
Minimum Requirements
TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL
• 3-year IT degree/diploma
• 3-5 years relevant experience
• Passion for our Brand and Customer
• Strong analytical ability and innovative thinking
• Ability to translate business requirements into systems requirements
• Ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they occur
• Driving quality by displaying ability to clarify and reduce complex issues to simple solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Is self motivated with high energy and “can do” attitude
• Strong functional knowledge of the Merchandise Management Systems would be preferred – RMS, ReIM, RPM – and how it fits into the broader Woolworths architecture.
• Good understanding of Woolworths CB&GM and Foods business processes throughout the supply chain would be advantageous.
• Financial background would be advantageous, including general understanding of financial principals and stock valuation.
• Ability to use intermediate SQL queries.
• Takes pride in exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers
• Ability to manage relationships with external/internal service providers and partners
• Must be able to work effectively in a pressurized environment
Job Specification

• Definition of business requirements into system requirements
• Develop and maintain the system requirement specification, program specifications and testing documentation
• Participate in the system and database design
• Manage the development of the system/system components and integration (within Woolworths and with external partners)
• Interface between business support, development teams and ITS colleagues
• Co-ordinate the implementation of solutions
• Ensure the stability of the Merchandise Management systems environment
• Drive issue resolution in order to ensure SLA’s are met
• Resolve user queries, provide input to development team when needed and provide functional input and guidance.
• Perform key system checks and diagnostics to identify errors, and resolve issues highlighted.
• Interpret business requirements into system specifications, analyse existing system and interfaces for modification / improvement purposes and evaluate and design system enhancements
• Develop test plans and perform unit, systems and integration testing
• Investigate and resolve complex systems issues across applications
• Implement approved changes as per change control and security processes
• Provide functional input to business and ITS projects
