Job Title: Governance and Reporting Specialist (Reference # 9659)

Introduction
Metropolitan Retail requires a Governance and Reporting Specialist for a newly created role reporting to the Head of Finance. The incumbent will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the entire Metropolitan Retail business through interaction with executive level staff and various professionals.
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
Governance reporting
The business’s internal governance framework includes various workgroups and committees that report into independent governance bodies that feed into the greater MMI group’s various executive and independent boards and committees.
In order to ensure the effective operation of all these bodies the incumbent will be required to:
Set meeting agenda’s in consultation with the CEO, CFO and well as non-executive directors;
Communicate agenda topics and assign responsibility;
Coordinate the gathering of information to be included in packs within specified timeframe;
Review of information for inclusion in packs for relevance and adequacy;
Manage the production of professionally presented reporting packs;
Distribution of pack within the required timeframes;
Take minutes;
Managing the various meeting timetables;
The above will required for the following governance bodies:
Product and Actuarial Risk Committee;
Capital and Solvency Risk Workgroup;
Legal and Compliance Risk Workgroup;
Operational and Audit Risk Workgroup;
Investment Committee;
Metropolitan Retail Board;
Metropolitan Retail Audit and Risk Committee;
Operational reporting
The role will be responsible for operational reporting including the reporting required for the six-weekly Retail Executive Committee meeting as well as the monthly operational report submitted to the Metropolitan Retail Executive Committee and the Group Finance Director.
Regulatory reporting
The role will be responsible for Metropolitan Retail’s compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements including those required by the Financial Services Board and the National Credit Regulator.
The applicant should meet these requirements:
A Hons B Comm degree;
At least 3 years relevant corporate experience in a similar role ;
Ability to communicate professionally at all levels.
Recommendations
Preference will be given to candidates with a CA (SA) or CIMA.

Resourcefulness;
Ability to work independently;
Ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff, especially at an executive level;
Ability to deal effectively with all staff across various disciplines including actuarial, IT, risk and finance professionals;
Strong report writing skills.
