Introduction
Atlas Trading & Shipping, a division of Grindrod Trading (Pty) Ltd is looking to secure the permanent services of a Business Turnaround Specialist. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements
Matric
Accounting degree and experience
Business turnaround experience
10 years relevant work experience, at least 3 of which in/with African countries
Strong commercial/business sense
Strong financial acumen/ analysis experience
Strong report-writing experience
People/relationship management experience
Project management experience
Understanding of the agricultural commodity trading industry preferred
Job Specification
The candidate must be willing to travel locally and internationally, and most importantly, must be willing to move around and be based at other cities in South Africa and countries in Southern Africa for at least three months at a time
Be physically based at companies in which Atlas has invested with the main objective of turning the business around by:
• Understanding the company's business and industry
• Developing a strong rapport with the company's management and staff
• Meeting with key customers, suppliers and stakeholders
• Performing a SWOT analysis (covering internal and external matters)
• Formulating a bankable and comprehensive business plan for approval by Atlas senior management
• Taking responsibility for implementation of the approved business plan
• Putting in place key performance metrics for the company and its management to be measured by
Prepare monthly update reports for Atlas senior management
