Introduction
The purpose of the position is to maintain a compliance function within an operational context that embraces best practices, and to take ownership and accountability for the implementation and monitoring of compliance processes withinthe Public Sector of Metropolitan Health Division.
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
Ensuring that all documentation is legally compliant in terms of statutory and other laws.
Rendering confidential and high quality audit assistance to the Compliance Manager.
Projecting a highly professional and efficient image of the organization, including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with management, staff, external clients and service providers.
Assisting in the planning phase on assigned segments of an audit.
Executing audit procedures, including reviewing transactions, documents, records, reports, and policies and procedures for accuracy and effectiveness.
Preparing audit files which record and summarise audit procedures performed, including the preparation of audit findings.
Assisting in developing audit reports including recommendations for corrective action and improvement.
Overseeing compliance training programmes designed specifically to promote awareness and understanding of the compliance-related matters.
The applicant should meet these requirements:
B Comm, BA LLB or B Comm. LLB (Post Graduate Stream) or LLB (Undergraduate Stream).
4-5 years experience in Compliance.
Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Work and Powerpoint.
Relevant professional qualification recommended: CIA or CISA will be an advantage
The person appointed will be driven by deadlines and is expected to prioritise these deadlines over the limits of the working day when required
Knowledge of Medical Schemes will be advantageous.
Perform other assurance duties as assigned.
