JOB TITLE: BROKER CONSULTANT - BUSHBUCKRIDGE (Reference # 8478) Job Grade:FFA FS

Introduction

Please note that in accordance with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act no. 37 of 2002 (FAIS), this position is duly affected in that it is deemed to be an ‘advice’ giving position in terms of the said Act.
Accordingly, your attention is drawn to the fact that, in addition to the inherent requirements pertinent to this vacancy, applicants are further, by operation of law, required to comply with the Fit and Proper provisions of the FAIS Act. A copy can be forwarded on request.

Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to promote the Company by obtaining and retaining high quality new business from brokers within our target market and by increasing the broker base.

Location

Metropolitan Retail: Broker Distribution – General Intermediary Channel (GIC) has a challenging field staff position for a dynamic and results oriented individual who is willing to accept responsibility and accountability to fill this vacancy at our office in Bushbuckridge.

The Incumbent will be responsible for:

• Promote the Brand
• Initiate and manage marketing drives
• Identify the needs of a portfolio of brokers and provide the necessary support
• Develop and implement marketing plans
• Continuously analyse competitor strategies
• Efficiently apply technology and update investment knowledge in the business
• Train brokers on products and processes
• Secure profitable, quality new business from brokers
• Prepare quotations
• Receive and check new business applications
• Arrange premium payment facilities and open new facilities
• Follow up on missed premium payments
• Provide after-sales service
• Maintain productive levels with acceptable quality of business and manage the risk of such business
• Canvass and recruit new brokers.
• Manage the broker contract application process
• Liaise with brokers on business that is not taken up (NTU) and lapses
• Develop and implement interventions to resolve NTU trends

Additional Requirements

• Matric or similar NQF 4 qualification
• Be FAIS compliant or have the ability to be FAIS compliant
• Have at least 60 credits on NQF level 5
• At least 3 years experience in a sales environment in the insurance / financial services industry
• Proficient in English
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word

Recommendations

• An ability to speak an African language will be advantageous
• An industry recognized qualification such as CFP, financial degree or NQF 5 in Wealth Management or equivalent qualification if entered the financial services industry after November 2008.

All shortlisted candidates will be required to present their findings from a case study. The content of the case study and the duration of the presentation will be communicated before the time. The presentation will be part of the interview process.
