Introduction

Metropolitan Life (Group Schemes) has a vacancies for individuals who are results oriented and a true starter-finisher and are able and willing to accept responsibility and accountability.

The purpose of this role is to manage your specific geographic area in such a way that the key business driver (KBD) standards are met or exceeded in your section.

Please note that in accordance with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act no. 37 of 2002
(FAIS), this position is duly affected in that it is deemed to be either a Key Individual or an ‘advice’ giving position in terms of the said Act.

Accordingly, your attention is drawn to the fact that, in addition to the inherent requirements pertinent to this vacancy, applicants are further by operation of law required to comply with the Fit and Proper provisions of the FAIS Act. Copy can be forwarded on request.

The Incumbent will be responsible for:

• Responsible for the control of the operation expense budget (e.g. over-financing, commission, losses, NTU’s and expenses).
• Implement the business plan developed by the Regional Manager in your section.
• Manage the Key Performance Areas (KPA’s) of subordinates.
• Manage the operational requirements of your branch.
• Entrench the vision, mission and values (culture) within your section.
• Develop new sales opportunities and increase penetration levels.
• Identify trends, opportunities, threats, and environmental influences.
• Responsible for key accounts handling.
• Recruit and select high quality Business Development Consultants.
• Maintenance of satisfactory debt and exposure to risk levels of Business Development Consultants.
• Optimise production across the product range through Business Development Consultants.

The applicant should meet these requirements:

• Minimum of 3 year tertiary education
• A relevant financial qualification (preferably a Fellowship of FPI)
• Commitment and desire to follow a career in management.
• A proven successful track record in sales and marketing
• Must have own transport and a valid drivers license.
• Must be prepared to relocate to the area where the position is based.
