Job Title:SENIOR MEDIA RESEARCH EXECUTIVE (Johannesburg)
Reporting to the Research Manager, your key performance areas will include:
Receive, understand, compile, analyse and make industry research available to relevant staff and departments on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Support the research executive and research manager in dealing with group research requests and accelerate delivery thereof
Compile and create accurate presentations on audience trends, profiles and programming on request from relevant stakeholders
Update Powerpoint presentations, interpret the information and summarise the findings in the presentation before sending out to relevant staff and managers
Conduct the analysis of secondary industry research in the form of AMPS, TAMS, DStv-i and other available research tools
Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the market, market trends and competitive analyses and to package presentations on this information
Monitor, track and analyse competitor activity for the TV Landscape
Work on audience projections and media trends to assist in better informed programming decisions for both e.tv and the eNews Channel
Work closely with the Local Production Department by supplying research information and strategic insights into audience needs and competitive programme trends
Assist On-Air Scheduling with research requirements
Compile research documents on the eNews Channel, eNuus on kykNET and Current Affairs Programmes and analyse research supplied by Multichoice and other platforms on the eNews Channel or related News offerings
Provide support on YFM and other SABIDO subsidiaries with research as and when required
Work with CTS on joint projects such as audience segmentation and projections
Work closely with the Marketing team in terms of supplying research and media data to inform Media Planning strategies for e.tv and the eNews Channel
Attend relevant internal meetings and Qualitative Research presentations and be able to communicate findings to relevant departments
Attend certain research conferences and other industry related events
Assist with the setting up and organization of meetings and presentations from Research houses and relevant media related suppliers
Assist in providing training for departments that rely on the Research data to ensure qualitative delivery on their parts
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification: Must have a Media related degree or diploma
At least 5 years’ experience in the Media Research / Media related Industry
Advanced knowledge and user level of AMPS, TAMS, AdEx and other industry research surveys
Must be proficient in the following software applications: Telmar (including Crosstab functions for AMPS), Transmit, Arianna and related programmes
Be able to use Powerpoint, Excel and Word at an advanced level
Be able to compile accurate and well-constructed presentations
Have a high level of numeracy
Be proactive
Have analytic ability
Attention to detail and thorough administration skills
Self-motivated
Ability to discuss strategic and sensitive issues
Have a passion for Research
Good command of the English language – ability to speak, read and write other languages will be an advantage
Ability to work under pressure is a must
