Job Purpose:
• Accountable for a secure and safe working and transacting environment for the Nedbank Group including the provision of security cash solutions to selected corporate clients.
Functions/ Key Responsibilities
Accountable for a Secure and Safe Working and Transacting Environment for the Nedbank Group Including the Provision of Security Cash Solutions to Selected Corporate Clients:
• Appropriate research and development (specifically in terms of security technology).
• Develop the security strategy, business plan, resources and appropriate budget.
• Obtain approval and ratification from exco.
• Implement, communicate and create awareness.
Develop a Security Risk Management Framework with Appropriate Policies, Procedures and Controls:
• Appropriate security risk management to address violent crime threat.
• Alarm monitoring and response; Proactive investigative service in respect of violent crime.
• Information risk management including keeping abreast of criminal trends.
• Employee risk awareness both proactive and reactive.
• Risk assessment, evaluation and testing.
• Tailored business process safeguards.
• Compliance with OHSA.
• Executive protection and chauffeur services.
Develop and Maintain Client Relationships:
• Develop relationships with external bodies, government and other stakeholders (including SAPS, SABRIC, SBV, MPA and SARB).
• Communicate effectively to consolidate relationships.
• Ensure ROI in terms of security spend.
• Tailored safety and security service to client and their customer base.
Network with Various Private Public Partnerships to Improve the Efficiency of Security and Prosecutions of Serious and Violent Crime:
• Establish forums.
• Establish joint operations and/or participate in.
• Supply resources
• Support external initiatives (eg Business against crime, special courts, in camera witness protection).
• Liaise and mediate to improve relationships between SAPS, NPA and private security industry.
• Influence the framework for the provision of safety and security.
Contract Management of Security Service Providers:
• Appropriate corporate government structures around procurement and contract management.
• Meet BEE targets outlined in Financial Service Charter.
• Appropriate legal contracts and effective service level agreements.
• Cost effectiveness of services.
Accountable for Group Security Spend and for Cost Effective Security Services within the Group:
• Review and improve effectiveness of existing services and processes.
• Benchmark against other banks and security industry.
• Tailored cost effective solution per client and their customer base.
Accountable for Ensuring Compliance with Security and Safety Regulations:
• Meet requirements of OHSA, LRA, SIRA; Interpretation of the legislation.
• Appointment of officials in terms of the legislation.
• Create awareness and training.
• Monitoring of compliance and management of non-compliance.
Effective People Management:
• Attract, recruit and retain quality staff, training and development, coaching and on-the-job training of staff, reward and recognition, performance management.
• Keep morale high and set culture standards.
• Interpret international best practice.
• Build intellectual capital of the division.
• Give direction.
• Inspire staff towards enhanced performance.

Requirements:
• B degree
• B Com, Business Administration, BA Law or BA Risk management
• Accreditation through SIRA
• At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in a senior management position within the security industry, banking industry or risk management
• Broad experience within the banking security industry
• Clean personal credit and criminal rating
• Financial Services Charter; Code of Banking Practice; Corporate Governance; SIRA; OHSA; LRA; King II, Banks Act
• Extensive travel, national and occasional international travel required
