Introduction
This Retail Business Analyst will work with the Business Process Lead on an enterprise-wide multi-application program. This is a 12 month contract position based at the Head Office in Cape Town City Centre.
Minimum Requirements
TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL
• Business Process Analyst with a minimum of 5 years professional experience in the retail industry
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering
• Strong experience with business analysis and functional design
• Experience with specification documentation and problem resolution
• Thorough understanding of the full software development life cycle
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with technical, business, and management staff
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a highly energized and fast-paced environment within a framework of constantly shifting deadlines and deliverables
• Flexibility to adapt to change and willing to learn and develop new skill sets as applicable
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal and external clients
• Conduct Client meetings (create agenda/minutes)
• Work with the business to understand the business requirement and develop the Business Requirement Specification
• Identify and communicate impacts, risks and issues timeously
• Ensure the integrity of the solution in accordance with the business requirements through development of relevant test and use cases and conducting the relevant testing
• Ability to translate the final application solution into user training manuals and conduct subsequent required training sessions
• Pre/post-implementation support skills involving user functional support and high-level troubleshooting
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field (or work experience equivalent)
• Microsoft Visio
Additional Skills Desired:
• Grocery or Apparel Retail Planning in either or all of the following areas will be an advantage:
o Merchandise Planning
o Replenishment Planning
o Assortment and Space Planning
• Previous experience working with JDA Retail Applications will be an advantage
• ARIS or other modeling tool experience
Job Specification
• Analyse business or systems problems and facilitate solution exploration
• Analyse and evaluate current and proposed business processes
• Work with the business to understand the business requirement and develop the Business Requirement Specification/obtain consensus on scope where requirements are extracted from multiple departments/divisions (Facilitate JAD sessions)
• Identify and communicate impacts, risks and issues timeously
• Ensure the integrity of the solution in accordance with the business requirements
• Plan, drive and execute functional testing
• Guide the preparation of or prepare software manuals and guides with the change manager
• Participate in project training
• Provide level 2 application support
o Work with the level 2 team to diagnose, isolate and correct problems on an ongoing basis
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve and streamline solutions
