Job Purpose:
• To document functional and non-functional test cases based on the testing process.
• To define the test environment requirements.
• To participate in test design.
Key Functions / Responsibilities
Increase Knowledge of Testing Principles and Testing:
• Has a good understanding of programming, test automation and non-functional testing.
• Has a broad understanding of the automation suite. Has a broad knowledge of products in Nedbank. Has a broad understanding of the IT infrastructure.
• Has a basic understanding of testing techniques.
Document Test Cases:
• Can analyse requirements, extract requirements, and use intermediate level test plans
• Can design test cases including non-functional.
• Can create test procedures.
• Can define a controlled system testing environment.
• Can specify tests using structured techniques learned to date (boundary and equivalence).
• Can write test summary reports.
• Can do static testing based on rules and checklists.
• Can prioritise requirements to test based on test effort and business risk.
• Can create test cases.
• Provides input to test plans.
• Manages and documents traceability between test cases and requirements.
Ensure Quality Testing Activities and Delivery:
• Reviews defects.
• Ensures defects are assigned accordingly.
• Participates in peer reviews.
• Conducts walk through with the business.
Effective Engaging and Customer Relationship Management:
• Can build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Has established a network that enables consultation within the GT value chain that supports and depends on testing.
Contributing to the on-going Success of the Team:
• Acts as a mentor to Snr testers on more complex testing activities
Adopts the Values of the Organisation:
• Engages with team members and colleagues in accordance with Nedbank values
Execute Required Administration Activities:
• EPM, Log incidents on service centre, manage outstanding incidents, attend team meetings, timeous capture of leave, compliance training.
Requirements:
• Matric or equivalent. (English 50% with mathematics approx 50%) Computer literate
• IT Diploma/ certificate. ISTQB foundation or equivalent entry level testing certification. (PST)
• ISTQB foundation or equivalent (ISEB).
• 3-4 yrs in testing roles (minimum 14 months as Snr tester)
• Business product knowledge useful
• Occasional Overtime required
• IT Aptitude (SHL), OPQ 32, LPCAT
