Introduction

Ensure functional packaging, according to the brief, is aligned to the WW brand across all products within a certain timeline. Ensure new packaging is effectively and timeously implemented.
Minimum Requirements
TECHNICAL and FUNCTIONAL
• 1 to 2 year packaging diploma
• Min 5 years experience in packaging or related industries
• Extensive understanding of packaging, printing and manufacturing processes
• Cape Pack knowledgeable
• CAD competent
• Ability to understand and translate the design requirements into packaging
• Strong material knowledge and very good technical packaging knowledge
• MS Office, Internet literacy
• Strong negotiating and communication skills
• Project Management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Understanding of business and retail principles

Job Specification
• Create new die lines for new packaging design
• Conduct packaging/product compatibility and stability tests
• Obtain die lines and factory packaging samples from suppliers
• Create mock up samples for departmental approval
• Drawing up of complete and accurate packaging material specifications
• Ensures that correct specifications are loaded along with artwork
• Presenting new packaging ideas to Marketing Design Forum
• Input on Marketing concepts
• Developing cost effective packaging within the given budget
• Be part of in house artwork approval process
• Evaluate current range and offer and make suggestions of how packaging can be improved, updated, in line with Good Business Journey guidelines
• Document Good Business Journey quantifications for audits
• Keeping abreast of new and existing regulations pertaining to packaging
• Evaluate new technologies in the industry
