Outputs OUTPUTS

• Ensure professional transmitter station design and specification by:
o Performing site visits both locally and internationally;
o Site visualization by taking into consideration design principles and best practice;
o Ensuring effective site layout influenced by cost, time and space constraints;
o Coordinating drawings and bills of material related activities to ensure fast turnaround times;
o Coordinating design activities of Transmitter Engineers by guiding and supervising.
• Installation and configuring of terrestrial transmitters (DTT & DVB-H) in various countries;
• Ensure equipment and network infrastructure integration in accordance with design principles;
• Conduct video, audio and network parameter measurements to ensure station integration and network health;
• Ensure effective commissioning and operational handover of transmitter stations;
• Be responsible for RF network planning on ATDI and LS software packages and compile transmission specifications in accordance with international regulatory specifications;
• Design, implement and maintain a network database that encapsulates all aspects of station design and network operation;
• Compile standard operating procedures, maintenance, commissioning and other related reports;
• Strive to design transmitter stations that meet or exceed world-class service levels for digital terrestrial broadcast services;
• Ensure effective implementation of new transmission systems influenced by continuous development of software and hardware on various broadcast platforms;
• Assist with asset management activities and equipment tracking;
• Troubleshoot and repair transmitter station and field test equipment under arduous circumstances to ensure reliability and network availability;
• Conduct interference measurement and perform troubleshooting;
• Effective communication up & down
o Adhere to established and maintained operational processes to achieve optimum service levels.
• Establish and maintain recovery processes as dictated by business requirements;
• Mentor and assist with training and skills transfers to Transmitter Engineers, Operations Technicians and Operations Specialists;
• Define and adopt best practices in Transmitter Engineering to achieve:
o Change control and problem solving processes;
o Transmitter station design and implementation;
o Support systems design and implementation;
o Streamlined processes, operational efficiency and cost effective delivery.

Qualifications

• B.Sc/B.Eng/National engineering diploma;
• No less than 10 years combined radio frequency related experience;

Skilled in RF planning and database administration with a strong focus on spatial database integration will be advantageous.
