Minimum Requirements
Qualification:
National Diploma in one of the following disciplines
Cartography
Survey
Town and Regional Planning
Electrical
Experience:
3 Years in cartography, surveying, electrical draughting or town and regional planning.
Skills and Competencies

Knowledge of power line networks and operating diagrams
Communication skills and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of field Operations and Maintenance

Key Responsibilities
Captures, validates and maintains Spatial and Electrical Data using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and a Geographic Information System (GIS) by:
Converting hard copies into digital format by digitising, scanning and using various methods of data capturing in complying with the required standards.
Validating the source, completeness, accuracy and currency (metadata) of data, in accordance with the required standards.
Importing, loading, inserting and updating the validated data, into CAD/GIS in compliance with the required standards.
Produces engineering plans, maps, cadastral diagrams and electrical network system diagrams by:
Collating and consolidating existing and new data from various sources and formats, for the Network Asset Creation Value Chain (NACVC) and the Acquire Customer Value Chain (ACVC).
Interpreting field survey data and creating Long and cross sections, Contour and site plans, spanning plans, route plans, for the design and construction of power lines and substations.
Interpreting and translating data and creating Wayleave and Option sketches, Regional Network and Electrification maps, in compliance with Legal and Eskom Standards.
Interpreting the registration survey data and creating Working Plans, Servitude & Sub divisional Diagrams in compliance with Legal and Surveyor General Standards.
Exporting and transferring data, generating and publishing electrical network system diagrams.
Sources, integrates, analyses and provides Spatial, Electrical Data and Information by:
Obtaining relevant external and other data.
Manipulating, translating and transforming data sets in order to integrate with Eskom Distribution�??s Data and Systems.
Verifying and managing the metadata for various datasets in compliance with the Eskom Distribution�??s standards.
Providing query information and reports on data and information.
Coordinates data projects and contracts by:
Coordinating and providing feedback on the progress of data projects or contracts.
Performing quality assessments, ensuring that data projects and contracts are in compliance with Eskom Distribution�??s standards.
