Salary: 719 613
Salary Description: Remuneration package of R 719 613 per annum (all-inclusive remuneration package consisting of a basic salary, the State’s contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund and a flexible portion that may be structured according to personal needs within a framework).

Requirements:
Recognised Degree in Law (LLB) with specialisation in Labour Law and extensive field-related experience plus practical knowledge of the general management competencies; Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and other related health and wellness-related legislation and priorities; Knowledge of the Public Service Labour Relations framework and related legislation; Proven experience in policy development and implementation; Understanding of the Employment Equity (EE) Act and overall knowledge of Government’s transformation policies and priorities; Strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
Duties:
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction with respect to labour relations and employees wellness programmes and interventions. Coordinate and ensure the implementation of labour relations and employee wellness legislation, policies, programs, projects, processes and procedures for a peaceful work environment. Conduct labour relations and employee wellness research and impact analysis of processes and policies in the Department. Develop and implement labour relations and employee wellness communication strategies. Promote a supportive work environment that will improve the health and wellness status of employees. Facilitate the resolution of grievances and disciplinary cases, as well as training and awareness programmes to staff on Disciplinary Code, Grievance Procedure and Code of Conduct. Facilitate/Coordinate the Departments representation in dispute resolution structures and bargaining councils (Conciliation, Arbitration and labour court). Manage the implementation of and compliance with Collective agreements. Manage risks as well as human and financial resources of the Directorate.
Note: The person appointed will be subjected to security clearance, the signing of a performance agreement, employment contract and be expected to complete a financial disclosure form annually. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a 2-day competency assessment.
