Job title: Senior Project Manager - Technology Enablement - Contract - Jhb
Job Description
Responsibilities include the management of a large or several smaller projects and teams of analysts and/or programmers which control various aspects of project development in either a maintenance or development area.
Incumbent is also associated with aspects of systems and database analysis and design, as well as the monitoring and planning of all related activities.
The following roles and responsibilities are applicable:
1. Facilitator
Regular reporting of progress to project sponsor and stakeholders
Conducts meetings, give presentations and interface with stakeholders
Acts as a catalyst to resolve project problems and conflicts, escalating when necessary
Manages client needs and expectations
Ensures appropriate involvement and participation during product development
2. Leader
Accepts full responsibility for the project and take accountability for the overall delivery of the project deliverables
Ensure the overall success of the project
Empowers others: drives decision making to lowest level reasonable
Performs project-related mentoring to project members to ensure high standards of deliverables
Manages and leads project team
Encourage knowledge transfer and recognising achievements
Ensures acceptable project management practices are defined and followed
3. Coordinator/ Integrator
Establishes project requirements
Determines high-level project objectives and deliverables
Planning project activities, tasks and end results including the scope, scheduling, budgeting, coordinating of tasks and allocation of resources
Manages the project to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality
Ensures completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines
Identifies and controls areas for risk, concern, change and issue management
Ensures key project documentation is preserved for audit, review and legal purposes
Assesses strengths and weaknesses at project completion and applies lessons learned to next project
Job Requirements
Project Management experience - more than 6 years
Tertiary degree or diploma with more than 6 years project related experience
PMBOK / Prince 2
Object-oriented Analysis and Design or Domain Driven Design
Unified Modelling Language
Technical Writing
Financial services - banking
SDLC
ITIL
Information Systems Fundamentals
Software Testing Fundamentals
Management Principles
Document Management
Knowledge Management
