Job Summary Murray & Roberts Projects invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Structural Supervisor for the Kusile Project reporting to the Area Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Kusile Power Station to be erected at the Kusile Site at Witbank, Mpumalanga, South africa. Preference will be given to suitably qualified EE candidates
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
1. Oversee and be responsible to assist the Construction Manager in all erection activities on the Boiler main structure.
2. Control man hours allowed for erection, ensure all budgets are met or improved. This includes updating construction schedules and assisting with drawing up of construction schedules.
3. Ensure high standards of safety and quality are adhered to.
4. Assist the Construction Manager in running the site in a safe manner and within budget and on time.
5. Must be able to work unsupervised and lead a team.
6. Must report all deviations from the scope of work timeously in writing to the construction manager.
Key Requirements Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
The appointed candidate must have at least 10 years experience.
Must have previous experience in this type of position on a similar project.
Must be able to read erection/construction drawing fluently.
Must be quality conscious and must have a good understanding of ITP’s and quality procedures.
Education Suitable candidates must possess a combination of the following minimum qualifications and skills:
A recognized trade in required discipline with N3 or equivalent NQF level.
