LOCATION: UNIVERSITAS PRIVATE HOSPITAL
REPORTING TO: RECEPTION SUPERVISOR

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Admit and discharge patients in a professional, friendly and timeous manner. Create and maintain
goodwill with doctors.
KEY
Attend to patients/customers/visitors both telephonically and in person
Captures and records patient information on the Hospital System
General administration duties
Receipts, deposits and ensures accurate recording of all necessary payments
Discharging of patients
Directs patients/visitors to wards and Doctors rooms and with patient enquiries
Liaising with Bed Bookings Clerk regarding bed bookings
Obtaining authorisation for patient admissions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 qualification
2 – 3 years Reception experience, previous experience in a hospital environment would be
advantageous
Computer literate – MS Word / Excel
Knowledge of Medical Aid Schemes
Knowledge of RAF and WCA will be advantageous
