Job Title : Unit Manager Trauma/Casualty Unit
LOCATION : Netcare Union Hospital situated in Alberton
REPORTING TO : Nursing Manager
CLOSING DATE : 22 June 2012
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To Co-ordinate all the functions and activities related to the provision, promotion and assurance of quality of
patient care, excellent service to doctors, visitors and support services in a cost effective manner as well as
motivating, supporting and optimising staff performance and education so that an optimum contribution is made
to the successful functioning of the unit/ward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Keeping abreast with current development and trends in area of expertise.
Ensuring effective patient, staff and doctor relationships.
Staff management and development.
Ensuring a cost-effective nursing operation.
Client service with all stakeholders
Will do hospital call
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Registered with the SANC as a Registered Nurse.
A minimum of 2 - 4 experience in a management or senior position would be an advantage.
A diploma in Trauma highly advantageous.
Valid ATLS, ACLS certificates.
Working knowledge of staff planning.
Proven leadership skills.
Computer literacy required
