Job Purpose
To develop SWCF solutions in order to align to the Business Banking customer value proposition (CVP), in particular the Small Enterprises CVP.
To drive, support and implement Structured Working Capital Finance's product/solution strategies with the focus on sustaining and growing the current SWCF portfolio.
To drive economic profit, income statement and balance sheet objectives for SWCF.


Key Result Areas
Research and development:.
Researches local and international best practices and brings solutions to market that are viable in the SBSA context.
Interprets customer, competitor and market segment toDevelops SWCF products/solutions:.
- This involves the development of detailed business cases outlining the market opportunity, the product/solution features and benefits, the potential income streams, as well as the operating model detailing how it should be implemented.
In addition, this involves the preparation and presentation of New Products Proposal Committee (NPPC) papers and Credit Risk Management Committee papers to ensure that the correct level of governance is attained through the development phase.
Market structured working capital finance offerings:.
Determines and develops SWCF products/solutions pricing strategy for all the products in the area and includes both interest and fee pricing.
Ensures that Channel, Credit and the SWCF New Business Managers are adequately trained on the offerings in order to drive take-up ratio.
Determines and develops internal marketing strategies including but not limited to:.
- Identifying segments and sub-segments of customers that the products/solutions would be applicable to; - Identifying industries that the products/solutions would be applicable to; - Developing interview questions to enable early identification of potential customers; - Working closely with the Business Customer Offerings MIS and Business Insights team to proactively identify customer lead lists; - Driving internal campaigns and awareness to drive product/solution penetration and sales across SWCF.
- Determines and develops external marketing strategies with the marketing teams which include:.
- Above-the-line marketing.
- Editorials.
- Networking .
Portfolio management:.
Ensures that growth strategies around risk appetite, acquisition, retention and migration are optimised.
Ensures the product design and proposition remain relevant and accessible to the targeted population whilst ensuring profitability and managing credit risks.
Ensures the portfolio receives the necessary ongoing support and endorsement across key internal stakeholders and the branch network.
Ensures that the product design and propositions are relevant and accessible to the targeted population.
Monitors profitability of the Structured Working Capital portfolio as well as monitoring the credit risks.
Drives economic profit, income statement and balance Manages all facets of the Structured Working Capital Finance portfolio effectively (e g sales, credit and financials).
Understands and manages key product drivers that influence revenue streams and risk exposure on the lending portfolios.
Implements pricing and interest rate changes.
Reviews product agreements together with Credit Legal to ensure that they comply with system capability as well as applicable legislation, whilst not being unnecessarily long or confusing for clients.
Stakeholder management;.
Engages, builds and manages relationships with key internal and external stakeholders that may influence outcomes on the portfolios.
Examples of such internal stakeholders are: Business Banking; Credit; Collections; and Channel.
Risk management:.
Identifies risk-appropriate strategies in order to ensure a balance between risk and reward for SWCF.
Identifies compliance requirements such as National Credit Act (NCA); Consumer Protection Act (CPA); and Companies Act, across the SWCF portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

Experience

Minimum 5 years' banking experience in segment, product or portfolio management.
Experience in working with teams and managing stakeholders.
Business Banking / Corporate Banking sales, product or portfolio management experience is an advantage.

Knowledge

B Com degree or business related degree/diploma.
