Sanlam Private Investments (SPI) is a specialised investment house that manages assets for affluent private individuals, cultural organisations, charitable institutions and similar entities with investable assets of more than R1 million. They have the necessary capabilities and systems to provide a wide range of investment services, including domestic and offshore investment portfolios, stockbroking and allied services.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing SPI’s IT systems and infrastructure in conjunction with internal resources and external service providers, by:
Reviewing systems and implementing recommended upgrades, extensions, replacements and additions in a cost-effective manner;
Optimising uptime and security of infrastructure and systems
Managing the resolution of infrastructure and software problems
Monitoring and controlling the outsourced infrastructure- and application support functions;
Ensuring that the company’s technical capabilities are aligned to business and market developments;
Assist in the maintenance of an appropriate Business Continuity Plan
Planning, managing and implementing IT projects
Optimally utilising IT resources to meet business demand
Ensuring change and release management is adequately executed
Ensuring end-users are adequately supported
Oversee the timely and accurate production of SPI’s management information and assist in its development and enhancement
Effectively manage the IT risks and provide senior management with information to inform strategic decisions
Liaising and collaborating with Sanlam Group on the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures and best practises for SPI
Management of the IT team
Minimum Requirements
Relevant IT qualification
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar environment
IT change management experience essential
Experience in a financial services environment beneficial

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to convey technical terms to non-experts
