Be medically fit to fulfil the construction regulations pertaining to the climbing of structures where applicable o Comprehensive knowledge of planning and design processes and systems (synchronous digital hierarchy, plesiochronous digital hierarchy, intelligent / Bandwidth management equipment's and multiplexors, Telephone switches, Frame relay and X.25 Data networks o Knowledge of relevant standards (ANSI, IEEE,IEC, ITU-T, ETSI, CIGRE, SABS, BS)
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex telecommunication network configuration and capacity analyses of the regional networks
Provide input to the (two-year) regional network development plan
Develop and produce preliminary proposals, plans and designs for various elements of the envisaged projects
Develop and produce detail designs of planned projects
Ensure that the content and quality of the design packages are met
Update, maintain and manage comprehensive network planning documentation
Participate in technology work-groups
Provide mentorship and technical direction to newly appointed staff and engineers in-training
