Introduction
The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking an individual for the position of Logistics Support Assistant in the Engineering Services Center (ESC).

1. Education: U.S High School diploma or other country equivalent is required.
2. Work Experience: At least two years experience in a high-paced, customer or service provider position in which coordination of various offices and locations to develop program planning, deployment plans and budget were primary is required.
3. Language: Level 4 English (fluent) speaking/reading/writing is required. (This will be tested)
4. Knowledge: Familiarity with international package shipping, receiving and inventory procedures using various service providers is required. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2007 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access) is required.
5. Skills and Abilities: Ability to prioritize and organize time and tasks to meet deadlines and accurately track material, equipment and supplies is required. Ability to safely lift 70 pounds is required. Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license is required.
Job Specification
Basic Function of Position:
The incumbent provides and coordinates technical support and services to posts in Sub-Saharan Africa from the Embassy in Pretoria. The incumbent will be responsible for ESC logistics operations ensuring that OIC/ESC standards are met; administration and upkeep of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software; coordination of shipments for ESC regional travel; along with inventory reconciliation, maintenance and reports for technical systems and equipment. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing logistics training to regional security personnel.
