Permanent skilled level position at Standard Bank of South Africa in the Financial industry.
Job Purpose
To provide meaningful MIS reporting which is accurate and delivered on time to Vehicle and Asset Finance key stakeholders.
To provide a core function in supporting the reporting needs of the business, in formats easily understood, thus maintaining the information credibility and consistency within VAF.
Key Result Areas
Data analysis and reporting.
Provides MIS in accordance with business requirements.
Analyses of the VAF MIS data by using various applications such as COGNOS, SQL Server and/or other business intelligence tools and advanced excel macro's for the generation of reports.
Reports any data issues that are detected, together with a recommended solution, to the relevant IT departments viz.
Analytics and Information Management in Enterprise Information Warehouse (AIM EIW) and VAF System 4 , and, if appropriate, the MIS Manager for resolution, thus ensuring data credibility.
Tests data quality user acceptance on MIS/data projects and ensures that whatever data is in the VAF space on EIW (Enterprise Information Warehouse), is correct.
Recommends improvements on product and segment reports to support the Manager, MIS in meeting business partner needs.
Develops and maintains VAF Dashboards so that business partners in the field and at head office are able to access reports whenever they require information.
Maintains a data glossary to ensure that business partners are aware of the meanings of all dimensions on their reports.
MIS and Reporting.
Understands VAF Business as well as the business needs on sourcing, extracting and collating management information within the specified business requirements.
Assists in the identification, analysis and development of reports to help business partner heads meet their KRA's.
Develops, publishes and maintains new dashboards which are available nationally to VAF on a daily basis.
This ensures data availability and improved turnaround times.
Structures and delivers standard MIS reports to facilitate regular VAF MIS reporting nationally.
Creates and modifies user friendly reports to ensure that the reporting of information to business is meaningful and accurate.
Ensures that strict timelines are adhered to in the distribution of daily, monthly and year to date reports.
Utilises various applications such as COGNOS, SQL Server and/or other business intelligence tools and advanced excel macro's for generation of reports.
Liaises with EIW (Enterprise Information Warehouse) programmers to ensure that data received from source systems is correct.
Liaises with the source systems in order to ensure that the correct data has been sent to EIW.
Informs business and programmers of any issues as and when they occur.
Performs ad hoc requests for Head Office and Regional staff.
Documents minutes of meetings and workshops to monitor progress on action items.
Updates and records progress on data requests that are logged via Service Request portal.
Stakeholder Engagement.
Assists other staff members with the development, production and analysis of their reports.
Engages with business partners and IT departments.
Qualifications
Matriculation and 6 months SQL (Structured Query Language) qualification.
A relevant Tertiary qualification beneficial.
SQL (Structured Query Language) & COGNOS.
Experience
Sound practical experience of 3 years in a reporting/analysis function.
Sufficient experience in applying information management systems and dashboard platforms in the practical work environment.
