Requirements:


Registered as a Professional Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
Experience in/or additional qualification in ER, CCU and/or Theatre will be an advantage.
Proof of an Advance ICD10 qualification will be beneficial.
Case management experience will be a strong recommendation.
Previous exposure to statistical reports will be beneficial.
Excellent attendance record.
Self - Management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Accuracy and Attention to detail.
Planning and Organising skills.
Computer literacy in MS Office Packages is essential.

Key Outputs:


Responsible for coding at Hospital level.
Translation, validation and capturing of Clinical information into appropriate codes.
Conducting of coding audit on patient's files.
Assist with the implementation of the coding process.
Adhere to coding policies.
Provide relevant clinical information training to hospital personnel to improve clinical coding.
Interpret and act on coding audits send from Head - and Regional offices.
Give coding feedback on applicable forums at Hospital level.
Adhere to responsibilities as part of the Clinical Hospital Committee.
