Qualification:
N6 / T3
Recognised artisan (electrical)
Valid ORHVS (Distribution authorisation)
Valid drivers license
Experience:
10 - 15 years appropriate experience in the geographical area on LV, Dx and Sub Transmission equipment and systems

Quality assurance by:
Monitors and measures that all work is carried out in accordance with policies / directives / standards / procedures / guidelines / work practices / work instructions / critical task analysis / statutory requirements and provides feedback thereby ensuring conformance to requirements by
Performing surveillance on-site.
Auditing field services work execution processes for conformance to requirements and optimal and competent resource optimisation.
Identifying exceptional work practices for inclusion in national standards.
Conducting investigations on all quality related incidents.
Recommending and directing the implementation of corrective actions where required.
Expediting the implementation of corrective actions.
Recommending and coordinating training delivery options.
Providing inputs into the development of improvements to current work practices.
Performing COW duties
Recommending improved utilisation of staff regarding competencies observed.
Changing control representative
Disseminating changes to standards / procedures approved through Tescod
Safe working environment/practices by:
Monitoring and measuring that all work is executed in a safe manner and providing feedback so as to ensure compliance with policies / directives / standards / procedures / guidelines / work practices and statutory requirements by
Performing surveillance on-site.
Facilitating investigations on all safety related incidents.
Assessing persons for authorisation on LV, Dx and Sub Transmission systems in terms of O.R.H.V.S and relevant regulations.
Identifying and analysing critical tasks.
Identifying, analysing and eliminating / stopping unsafe work practices.
Identifying exceptional safe work practices for inclusion in national standards.
Recommending and directing the implementation of and corrective actions.
Facilitating the implementation of corrective actions.
Auditing Field Services work execution process for conformance to requirements.
Recommending training delivery options.
Providing inputs into the development of new techniques and work methods to enhance safe working
Providing continuous learning in terms of ORHVS.
Assisting with compilation of PoE for authorisation (employees / contractors)
Ensures continuous practical understanding of ORHVS.
Facilitating operator forums bi-annually.
Investigating non conformances and making recommendations to prevent re-occurrence.
Following up on non conformances to ensure that recommendations are implemented.
Development of all field staff / contractors by:
Monitoring and measuring existing expertise, skills and knowledge and the efficiency of workstations, tools and equipment in order to ascertain competency deficiencies and providing feedback so as to ensure compliance with policies / directives / standards / procedures / guidelines / work practices and statutory requirements by
Providing inputs and evaluating / assessing all employees / contractors.
Identifying competency deficiencies from deviations observed.
Identifying competency requirements.
Recommending training delivery options and facilitating the implementation of training.
Recommending and directing the implementation of corrective actions.
Auditing field services work execution process for conformance to requirements.
Providing on job training during activity assessments.
Identifying and communicating problem areas by initiating action plans.
Identifying the gaps in training and making recommendations to ETD.
Environmental conservation by:
Monitoring and measuring compliance with environmental legislation / policies / directives / standards / procedures / guidelines / work practices / statutory requirements and provides feedback thereby ensuring a safe environment by
Performing surveillance on site.
Conducting investigations on all environmental related incidents.
Directing and recommending corrective actions.

Administration by:
Providing inputs into the development of strategies to ensure compliance with statutory and Eskom requirements.
Identifying and prioritising tasks for which no policies / directives / standards or procedures exist.
Facilitating the compilation of local procedures.
Providing inputs on draft national policies / directives / standards and procedures for adequacy and practicality.
Reporting and feedback to key role players.
Integrating continuous improvement programmes to ensure effective utilisation of resources.
Demonstrating newly approved procedures.
Assisting fsdt with the development of improved methods, processes and procedures
Networking with external suppliers and other departments and initiating own research.
Moderation of assessments.
Compilation of authorisations and recommendations
Submission of monthly reports.
Submission of report on each activity assessment done.
Motivating, guiding and ensuring that recognition is given to staff that initiate best practices.
Submission of report to key receivers on completion of assessments done.
