  Job Title: Inventory Manager

Function: Pharmacy
Facility: Life The Glynnwood Hospital, Benoni
Position: Inventory Manager
Introduction: A vacancy exists at Life The Glynnwood reporting to Andrea Ferreira the Pharmacy Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the clinical and financial risk surrounding all ethical and surgical stock throughout the hospital by managing inventory processes and related staff.

Critical Outputs: Effective customer satisfaction management
Drive required customer service levels in theatre and wards and identify and address relevant discrepancies in customer service levels
Drive reduction in number of stock alerts
Ensure 100% implementation of relevant inventory quality initiatives
Effective people management
Recruit, retain, motivate and develop staff according to LHC people policies and practices.
Effective asset management
Achieve stock targets (i.e. stock cover, dead stock & stock adjustments) by, amongst others:
Managing surgical and ethical procurement processes, cycle count and stock takes and expired stock in line with LHC standards and governance procedures
Actioning dead stock and overstock report monthly
Obtaining authorization to write off obsolete stock
Managing negative stock report daily/weekly, investigate variances and manage stock write-offs in all locations
Developing and driving, together with Nursing & Patient Services, preventative measures to reduce recurrence of stock variances
Effective inventory systems management
Maintain up to date and accurate Item Master
Ensure optimum system utilization by training and reinforcing system functionality

Requirements: Relevant degree or diploma with minimum of 3 years experience within inventory management or relevant experience within a pharmacy environment
Knowledge of inventory control processes, procedures and practices
Understanding of management and relationship structures within an operating environment
People management experience
Basic financial and numeric skills
Computer proficiency (MS office)
